Do's and Don'ts on your Trip

As we know, Destin is one of the most visited tourist locations in the U.S. for the summer.

This should lead everyone to believe there will be a certain amount of traffic or other frustrations while on vacation.

Here are a few Do's and Don'ts for your stay:

DONT: Drive anywhere during a meal, it can result in a negative hangry experience. Do not put yourself in that situation with your whole family in the car, leave early for your meals, or try and eat before or after normal meal hours, thats what we do!

DO: Stop by a local seafood market and pick up a lb of fresh Peel 'n' eat shrimp to take with you in a cooler to the beach. This is the most convenient way to have lunch without having to pack up all your belongings at the beach to drive somewhere to eat.This is my biggest suggestion!

DONT: Forget your waterbottle where ever you go because the heat and humidity here will take a tole on you. When on vacation we sometimes forget the basic necessities so HERE is your reminder, stay hydrated!

DO: Bring an extra pair of sandals to keep in the car. We see so many barefoot Destin visitors running across hot pavement on the street because they forget their shoes and do not want to drive back to their condo. We also recieve alot of calls about people leaving their shoes behind in their rooms, if you do that atleast you will have an extra pair for the ride home.

DONT: Start your vacation with a negative mindset. There are a lot of visitors that completley forget about their long trip here and the possibilities of traffic or bad weather before they arrive. Whether this happens or not remember you are in route to your vacation and alot of fun memories are about to be had! Do not let things you cannot control effect your vacation with your family and friends.

DO: Make a fun check list of things that the kiddos will want to do while they are here that they can check off. Things like: Build a sandcastle, find 5 shells, swim underwater, or try a new icecream flavor! This can really get them excited for the vacation and set up fun family traditions for the future!

DONT: Walk across the street anywhere besides the cross walks. Here in destin we have so many crosswalks that were made specifically for the high tourist area. Do not chance using losing your life over something this simple.
