Local Favorites for Live Music

Boshamps

Is a seafood restaurant staple here in Destin. They usually have live music on Fridays and Saturday nights starting at 5:30pm, they sometimes have it on Sundays. If you click the link attached to the name it will take you to their live music Schedule for May.

Mattie Kelly Music Venue 

This is a lovely spot in Destin for cover bands/artists from all over the U.S. There is a ticket fee for each concert you may want to see but I can tell you its a good time. You can check out some of the latest concerts in the Blog they write and Google has some pictures of the venue itself. Its an outside take your shoes off and dance with your partner in the soft green grass kind of atmosphere.

Jake and Henry's 

I love the atmosphere at this venue. Its and unexpected favorite in the downtown Fort Walton Beach area. Unexpected only because of its location and what the inside looks like, opposites indeed. I would describe it as a makeshift, above ground, speakeasy with its low lit spacious lounge and bar areas. Their Facebook described it as a, "70's Fern Bar vibe". They almost always have great live music and will post the schedule on their Facebook, which is what this link will take you to. If you want a fancy night out, I would visit. (We visited last night for Cinco De Mayo and The Six Piece Suits were playing, they are now our favorite band).

Fubar Pizza

If you want to get your pizza fix while you are here, you want Fubar Pizza Bar, located in Fort Walton Beach. The live music atmosphere is outside on a large wooden dock sitting right on the edge of the bay. You drive there by car or boat and park in the lot of tie off at the dock. The live music is on Friday and Saturday nights and the stage is near the bar so you can sit and just have a drink while enjoying the music.

3rd Planet Brewery  

This is located actually a short drive over the Mid-Bay Bridge into Niceville. It may be farthur from the beach than you are used to but its worth it. They have very unique beers, food trucks ready for serving, plenty of open parking, and a lot of live music. Its mostly outside but does have inside sppace available as well. The live entertainment is usually on Thursday's through to Saturday's. The atmosphere and company you will find there is very laid back and there is alot of outside dancing and running around area for the kiddos. Check them out!
